Searching for Product and Prices

Contract Pricing Video

Use the menus and navigation bars on the top and left sides of the page to browse our listings by product category or by supplier. If you've signed in to the site with your password, you can optionally restrict your browse to the items in your company's GF contract. To browse your contract only check the box labeled Show Contract Pricing Only. To browse our entire catalogue simply uncheck the contract pricing box.

Use the Search field on the right side of the navigation bar to do a Google-style search of all of our products. You can search for descriptive terms (e.g. marker or drill) or for product SKUs (either our's or our supplier's), if you know them.

GF currently stocks thousands of products and can efficiently source tens of thousands more. Only stocked and marketed items are included in our e-Catalogue. If you can't find what you need please contact your sales rep, or call our order desk at 310-4343 or email us. Once we've set up a contract with you for any product, it will be listed under your contract pricing links on this site.

In the product listings, click the product description or the More > button to get detailed product information and a larger picture.

Using Order Templates

Order templates (referred to as saved orders on the eCatalogue) are snapshots of your shopping cart that are preserved from session to session. To create a template, first add the items and the quantities you want to your shopping cart. Then navigate to the templates page. The link to the templates page is on the favourites tab, as shown:

Templates Link

From the templates page, you can either add the contents of your cart to an existing template, or create a new template.

To create a new template, just click the Add Template button:

Add Button

Type a name for the new template and click Add.

To add to an existing template, click the name of the template in the left-hand panel.

When the template is displayed, look for the button to Update from Cart:

Update

Click this button to add the cart to the template. Note that any items already in the template will be preserved. You can remove items from the template by clicking Remove from Template.

When you log out of the e-Catalogue, your shopping cart is cleared, but your templates are preserved. The next time you sign in, you can display your templates. The item detail and your template order quantity will be displayed. To add items back to your cart from the template, just click the Add to Cart Button icon beside each product quantity.

Changing Your Personal Settings

Your personal settings include your password, your name, your personal telephone number and some flags and values that determine how the site behaves. To change your settings navigate to your profile page using the blue navigation bar at the top of the page:

My Profile Link

From the resulting menu list, select My Settings. Make any changes and press the Save Changes button to activate them.

There are some settings that you can use to control the appearance of the site:

Product Explosion Control

You can control when the browse pages show product rather than continuing to drill down through the type or brand hierarchies. The number in the field labeled Show Products When Count Less Than: determines when products will be shown and the remaining levels of the hierarchy will be exploded in the product list. Set this number higher to bring back product lines sooner. Set this number lower to keep the product listings smaller and more focused.

Price Source

The prices displayed on this site are either list prices, your company contract prices with GF or promotional prices. When you search for product using the search bar, or if you browse the entire GF catalogue (i.e. you uncheck the box labeled Show Contract Pricing Only), the resulting pages will always display the price source. However, if you are browsing only your contract items, the price source is generally not displayed. If you would like to see the price source on all displays, check this box.

Product Count

When you browse our product lists by type or by brand, you can use this setting to display the approximate number of products included under each category. Note that these numbers are only approximate. The counts may include discontinued products, additional price breaks and other distorting factors; but they will provide a general estimate of the number of products you'll find if you continue to drill down through the category hierarchies.
